Two sessions give evaluators a more complete look at each player and help with difficult placement decisions.<\/p><h3 dir=\"ltr\">How Evaluations Work<\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">NUBBA&#8217;s tryout process is designed to be as independent and fair as possible:<\/p><ul dir=\"ltr\"><li><strong>Closed to spectators &amp; coaches. <\/strong>Parents and coaches are not allowed in the gym during evaluations.<\/li><li><strong>Players are evaluated by number only.<\/strong> Evaluators do not receive player names.<\/li><\/ul><h3 dir=\"ltr\">How Teams Are Formed<\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">NUBBA typically fields at least one boys team and one girls team at each grade level from grades 3 through 8. If more than 14 players are registered in a grade level when registration closes, additional teams may be formed.<\/p><ul dir=\"ltr\"><li><strong>Purple and Black teams.<\/strong> For grades 5 through 8, if a grade level has enough players for multiple teams, teams are formed by skill level. When two teams are formed, they are designated Purple and Black, based on tryout evaluations and the number of participants.<\/li><li><strong>Competitive levels.<\/strong> Teams compete at the A, B or C level depending on ability. Some teams may start at a lower level and move up during the season.
