Information for Coaches

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

The New Ulm Basketball Association (NUBBA) is a recreational program that was created to teach the game of basketball to New Ulm youth. Through volunteer coaches, the aim of the league is not only to teach the basic principles of the sport, but to instill the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship and individual achievement. The most important aspect of the program is that the participants have fun while achieving these goals. The attainment of these goals is ultimately the responsibility of the coach. It is essential that coaches maintain a focus on the priorities and goals of the NUBBA program, bearing in mind that the program is for the players, not the parents or the coaches.

Coaches Concussion Training

All Coaches must receive initial online Concussion Training and repeat training once every 3 calendar years.

Online training is offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

To complete the training program:

Go to the CDC Website
Click on “Take the Training”
It takes roughly 30-45 minutes to complete the training
